slaking weather

Drought weather here. You can tell because the chalkings in the paths of Loring Park--HENNA, FREE CONDOMS, AIDS TESTING--are still plain as day, a week after Pride. But the air was heavy today at the Fantastic Fourth in the Walker Sculpture Garden, and now the skies have opened up, and it feels wonderful, all them drops on the skin. Release. And I sure could use it today, still mourning and unfocused and very much alone, even with family and friends around.

It looks like it's already letting up; I hope it doesn't. I hope we get rain all day and all night and into the morning. Fireworks be damned.
